Cashmere Fisherman Sweater Jenni Kayne

If you’ve followed me for a while you know I’m wary of internet hype — especially when it comes with luxury price tags. As someone who builds a wardrobe around timeless staples and travels constantly for my work with En Route to Rêverie, I want pieces that truly earn their cost per wear.

I first purchased from Jenni Kayne in 2020 and have been steadily adding to my collection ever since. Six years in, dozens of wears later, plenty of long-haul flights and real-life styling — I feel confident giving you a fully refreshed 2026 review.

Read on for my favorites (this post has been freshly updated!) plus a special promo code to use on your purchase.

Jenni Kayne Apparel Review

This post includes:

  • My most-worn Jenni Kayne pieces
  • Honest sizing notes
  • Fabric and quality observations after years of wear
  • Care tips for cashmere
  • Whether the brand is worth the investment
  • A current promo code

If you’re considering investing in Jenni Kayne sweaters, dresses or elevated basics, here’s everything you need to know.

About Jenni Kayne

Jenni Kayne is a California lifestyle brand known for neutral wardrobe essentials, high quality natural fabrics and understated silhouettes. The aesthetic leans into effortless, polished minimalism. So think cozy cashmere, relaxed tailoring, elevated loungewear and linen dresses you’ll wear for years.

You won’t find trend-driven pieces here. Instead, the brand focuses on:

  • Cashmere sweaters in wearable neutrals
  • Relaxed but refined silhouettes
  • Investment wardrobe staples
  • Elevated basics designed to mix and match

For someone like me who believes in a tightly edited closet of quality pieces, the brand’s ethos aligns perfectly.

Jenni Kayne Sweater Review (My Most-Worn Pieces)

Let’s start with what I believe the brand does best: knitwear.

The Jenni Kayne sweaters make up my very favorite apparel from the brand. They’re high quality investment pieces in beautiful neutrals that you’ll reach for time and time again. I also love their dresses.

Wit Whimsy Blogger Meghan Donovan

Jenni Kayne Everyday Sweater

This is a lighter-weight option that works year round.

Details I love:

  • Slight edge detailing
  • Side slits for movement
  • Lightweight but still cozy
  • Easy to layer under coats

I own it in Ivory and Camel in a Medium. I’d recommend sizing up if in between sizes.

If you’re building a neutral capsule wardrobe, this is a smart starting point.

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Fisherman Sweater

If you buy one thing from Jenni Kayne, make it the Cashmere Fisherman.

Why it’s worth it:

  • 100% cashmere
  • No significant pilling even after repeated wear but I do use a fabric shaver for some upkeep
  • Classic crewneck silhouette
  • Beautiful neutral color range
  • Subtle textured knit
  • Boxy body makes it universally flattering I think

I own it in Ivory, Oatmeal, Black and Charcoal and reach for them constantly. For travel days, London winters, Paris dinners and cozy days at home.

Sizing: I wear a Medium. Runs true to size.

Cotton Fisherman Jenni Kayne

Jenni Kayne Cotton Fisherman Sweater

Same silhouette as the cashmere version but in a heavier cotton knit.

My honest take:

  • Slightly more oversized fit
  • Can stretch with repeated wear

This is a great transitional piece for spring or cool summer evenings but I wear my cashmere fisherman sweaters way more.

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Hoodie

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Hoodie

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Fisherman Hoodie

Prefer a hoodie? Meet the hoodie version of the Cashmere Fisherman. Slouchy, comfy, cozy perfection. Both the body and the hood are slightly oversized, making this a 100% cashmere sweater you’ll want to live in.

I often travel in this paired with a pair of favorite leggings and I really like how it looks layered with my winter coats in particular.

I have the shades Oatmeal and Black in size L.

Cashmere Half Zip

The way I love this sweater!! I live in this sweater in Fall and Winter. It’s so cozy and perfect for pairing with jeans and with leggings. The cashmere is so thick and luxe.

Truly one of my most worn fall and winter pieces.

Thick, luxe cashmere that pairs beautifully with jeans, trousers or leggings for travel. This is the sweater I reach for constantly when packing for winter trips. I now own the gray, black and ivory colorways.

Wearing a Medium. True to size.

Jenni Kayne Flynn Sweater

Flynn Cashmere Sweater

I think I’m becoming a V-neck person right now. I’m still picky about them (I have a larger chest and sometimes V-necks can look awful on me) but this one is great.

I got the size L so it wasn’t too form-fitting and it was the perfect choice. It’s available in sizes XS through 3X and comes in several colors.

This is another V-neck style the brand offers.

Jenni Kayne Cable knit Sweater

Cable Serena Crewneck

I love a chunky cable knit sweater in a Large, particularly styled with an open coat over it. So good for ski weekends and other winter adventures.

The brand introduced a similar take on this cable crewneck recently as well.

Jenni Kayne Amelia Cashmere Crewneck

This is the perfect oversized knit. I sized down to a Small and it still has that relaxed silhouette.

It works:

  • Belted over a slip skirt
  • With trousers
  • With leggings for travel

A true elevated basic. I love how warm it is and how luxe it feels.

(My pants above can be found in my How to Style Trousers guide!)

What To Do on Nantucket

Chloe Crewneck

The perfect cotton striped crewneck. I sized up to a L for a roomier fit. It’s showing sold out but I imagine it’ll come back.

They offer a Chloe Cardigan, too but I don’t like it as much.

Jenni Kayne Cooper Cardigan

This piece went viral for a reason.

That said: it runs small. If you have a chest you’ll want to size up at least two sizes.

I sized up to an XL to wear it comfortably buttoned. The cuffs and silhouette are stunning but definitely review the size guide before ordering.

I also have the beautiful chocolate brown color.

Jenni Kayne Jet Turtleneck

The oversized cozy yet still chic turtleneck of your dreams.

This runs quite big – I am wearing the S.

There’s also a Cropped Jet Turtleneck if you’d prefer a shorter style.

Cashmere Jackie Sweater

And, in another turtleneck style, the Jackie has stylish details like a buttoned neck and wide sleeves.

It runs TTS – I am wearing the M. Available in sizes XS-XXL.

Jenni Kayne Sweater Review

Finley Cashmere Cardigan

This is a favorite for over the shoulder styling but it can also be worn buttoned or unbuttoned. It’s so lightweight that I love it for adding a little extra visual interest to a look when worn over the shoulders.

It is rather shrunken in style so I sized up to an XL.

Jenni Kayne Dresses Review

Jenni Kayne Rhode Dress

Rove Dress

This dress is a dream.

Why I love it:

  • Flattering silhouette
  • Pockets
  • Easy to dress up or down
  • Elegant but effortless

It was originally called the Rhode dress when I first purchased it and the fabric had some texture and a lived in feel.  Now it is called the Rove dress and comes in a silkier fabric for some colors with the same silhouette.

I own the M and the L in the newer fabrics so you may want to grab both sizes and see which you prefer.

I bought the ivory as soon as it was restocked this year – see it on here:

France Summer Outfit

And here’s the silkier version of the 2024 Rove dress:

This is hands down one of my most worn summer dresses. I always get so many compliments whenever I wear this dress.

If you’re searching: best Jenni Kayne summer dress or Jenni Kayne Rove dress review — yes, it’s worth it.

Blair Dress

The ideal summer linen shift dress. Simple, chic and easy to style.

I think the Jenni Kayne Blair Dress runs true to size. I’m wearing the M.

Kinney Dress

Kinney Dress

The perfect linen midi dress. I loved it so much I bought and kept the black and ivory colorways.

Wearing a size L as it runs a bit small in the bust.

Seen paired with the Avery Crewneck sweater (size M).

Jenni Kayne Boyfriend Shirt

Jenni Kayne Boyfriend Shirt

This is the perfect oversized oxford button down with a relaxed fit. I went with the size Small and I’ve been so happy with it. The fabric is crisp and cool and easy to get wrinkles out of with my favorite wrinkle release spray.

It also layers so well with sweaters as seen below!

This shirt also comes in several striped colors as well as a French blue.

Inez Mila Boot Fall Outfit

Jenni Kayne Saturday Set

Jenni Kayne Saturday Sweatshirt + Saturday Sweatpants

The most perfect comfy yet elevated sweatset. The set is made from a unique French terry that’s based on a vintage Japanese fabric that boasts a looser knit for an ultra-soft feel. I loooove it.

I’m wearing a size M in both top and bottom.

Jenni Kayne Slippers

Jenni Kayne Shearling Moroccan Slipper

And I had to include my one shoe choice from the brand, too! These converted me into a slipper person. Chic, minimal and versatile.

. . .

Next up on my list to try from the brand? The Jenni Kayne Cropped Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan, the Jenni Kayne Cleo Slip Dress and the Jenni Kayne Demi Pant (a friend has them and raves about them).

Do any of you have these? I’d love to hear what you thought!

Jenni Kayne Sizing Guide (My Honest Take)

Does Jenni Kayne fit true to size?

Generally yes — but oversized styles vary significantly.

My advice:

  • Size down in anything labeled as “oversized”
  • Size up in Cooper Cardigan
  • Definitely size down in the boyfriend button down
  • Cotton fisherman runs slightly small
  • Dresses vary by fabric and fit

Always check the Jenni Kayne Size Guide and read fabric descriptions carefully.

How Is Jenni Kayne Quality?

After six years of wear:

  • Cashmere quality: Excellent
  • Minimal pilling but upkeep is required (see below)
  • Construction: Strong seams and structure
  • Longevity: High cost per wear

These are investment pieces, not impulse buys. But if you’re building a long-term capsule wardrobe, they absolutely deliver.

How do I care for my Jenni Kayne cashmere?

I either dry clean my Jenni Kayne cashmere sweaters or I’ll use Cashmere Shampoo and let the pieces air dry (read: do not tumble dry!)

After repeated wear, the sweaters will pill a bit. But it is easily remedied by using my favorite fabric shaver that leaves the sweaters looking brand new.
