Looking Good, Mr. Red Tail. It’s a good day to fly.
My friend Mr. red tail dropped in for a morning visit, he reminded me to have clarity of vision.
This photograph was taken in my old backyard located in Medford New Jersey.
The red-tailed hawk is a bird of prey that breeds throughout most of North America, from the interior of Alaska and northern Canada to as far south as Panama and the West Indies. It is one of the most common members within the genus of Buteo in North America or worldwide. Wikipedia
Animal Totem: Red-Tailed Hawk
The animal totem of early spring is the red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis), a large, blocky raptor with a range that extends from Alaska and Northern Canada down into Central America and the West Indies. While they prefer to hunt and nest in tall trees or on high bluffs on the edge of open areas, these diurnal birds of prey have acclimated to environments as diverse as forests, grasslands, agricultural fields, foothills and mountains, wetlands, tundra, deserts, and even suburban and urban areas.
Red Tail Hawk
Sun Bear said that red-tailed hawks were very special to Native peoples, who considered them to have a special connection with the sky and sun like eagles. The red-tailed hawk can teach us to be fearless, intense, optimistic, adaptable, and to appreciate the joy of freedom and clear sightedness.
